BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Selcuk Eren is a senior economist at the New York City Comptroller's Office. At his current position, Dr. Eren is responsible for conducting research on New York City’s policy initiatives with particular attention to their fiscal and economic implications. His most recent research include evaluation of City's homelessness reduction initiatives; analyzing arts industry in the City; measuring affordability in the City; NYC’s digital divide and its potential impact on 2020 Census; impact of home-sharing websites on rental market among others. He has published papers and reports on economic well-being, income and wealth inequality, housing markets, migration and immigration. Previously he worked as a supervising analyst at New York City Office of Management and Budget, research scholar at Levy Economics Institute of Bard College and a visiting assistant professor at Hamilton College. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stony Brook University.
