BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Kuheli Dutt serves as the Diversity Officer for Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. In this role she leads diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts at Lamont. Dr. Dutt also serves as the Academic Affairs Officer for Lamont, working closely with search committees and on salary equity issues, and overseeing postdoctoral affairs at Lamont. More recently, Dr. Dutt has been working with the Earth Institute (EI) Directorate to develop diversity and inclusion efforts and initiatives at EI.

Dr. Dutt has a PhD in public policy, and her research focuses on implicit bias and STEM diversity. Her work has been published in venues such as Nature Geoscience, Scientific American, The Lancet, Eos, and others. Dr. Dutt’s work has received wide media coverage, including venues such as: NPR Science Friday; New York Times; Huffington Post; Scientific American; Nature; Science; Inside Higher Ed; and others. Dr. Dutt serves on the Columbia University Senate Commission on the Status of Women; and the Columbia University Task Force on Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Dr. Dutt serves on the International Gender Advisory Board of Southern Denmark University; and on the Advisory Board of NPR Science Friday's Breakthrough Initiative on STEM Diversity.

Dr. Dutt has given invited talks to national and international audiences on the subject of STEM diversity and implicit bias. These include: American Geophysical Union, National Science Foundation, Association of Women in Science, Aspen Global Change Institute, Social Science Research Council (SSRC), Yale University, University of Southern Denmark, American Society of Association Executives, SPIE Photonics West, Columbia Global Center Rio, The Earth Institute at Columbia University, Center on Global Energy Policy, Columbia Bridge to PhD Scholars Program, EI Climate & Society Program, Columbia Faculty of Arts & Sciences, and others.
