Carmen González Romero is a Research Staff Associate at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI), working as the country manager for the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) team in the Columbia World Project “Adapting Agriculture to Climate Today, for Tomorrow” (ACToday), aimed at fighting hunger helping local and international partners to co-develop the best available climate services to increase food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture (Sustainable Development Goal #2).
González Romero is working on a variety of climate-and-society projects. Besides ACToday related activities, she is also advancing research on network analysis for food systems and the nexus between climate and undernutrition in Latin America. As part of her role, she represents IRI in interactions with international partners, like the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the EU Delegation in Latin America, the Taiwan Delegation in Latin America, the World Food Programme, Food and Agriculture Organization of the U.N (FAO), the CIAT-Bioversity Alliance, among others.
