Tropical Forests and Climate in a Warming World
DESCRIPTION: This project will lead to transformative changes in understanding tropical terrestrial ecosystems, with significant advances in the field of global environmental change, paleoclimate, ecology, and applied water management policies. Outcomes of this newly developed data will be directly relevant to the Center for Climate and Life (CCL) mission by providing meaningful insights on how the coupling between life systems (e.g. forests) and climate is changing in the highly vulnerable tropical ecosystems and how these changes may affect ecosystem services and water for local population, and at global scale through changes in climate regimes. The results of this project will meet an urgent demand that society now faces; to better understand the nature sensitivity and implications for tropical forests responding to climate change.
