May, 23 2013
How will changing climate affect our ability to grow food? The Agricultural Modeling Intercomparison and Improvement Project is trying to find out, by comparing the models that project climate change and other models that predict crop yields and the economics of agriculture. The goal: To create better models that can help farmers and policymakers prepare for the effects of climate change. The project is a collaboration between the Earth Institute?s Center for Climate Systems Research, the NASA-Goddard Institute for Space Studies and many other organizations around the world. In this video, climate scientist Alex Ruane explains the program. For more, go to www.agmip.org.
