Climate, Sea Level, and the Vikings

In Norway’s Lofoten Islands, scientists from Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and other institutions investigate how the Vikings made a living, apart from their famous raiding expeditions. Today, their experiences may provide a kind of object lesson on how changing climate can affect civilizations.
