Directions
The Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory is located in Rockland County, New York, approximately 20 minutes' drive (or 35 minutes by shuttle) from Columbia University's Morningside Campus in Manhattan. From New York City, you can get to Lamont:
- By Shuttle from Columbia's Morningside Campus
- By driving (see driving directions or the Lamont Ride Board)
- By public bus on the Red and Tan Line
- By taxi, but this is very expensive ($75 or more, one-way).
