Text Bio

David Nissen is Professor in Practice and Director of the program in International Energy Management and Policy at Columbia's School for International and Public Affairs. In the 1970s, Prior to joining Columbia, he held senior positions with Chase Manhattan Bank's energy lending group and Exxon's corporate planning department. In the 1970s at the Federal Energy Administration, he directed the analysis of President Carter's National Energy Plan. He is a charter member of the International Association for Energy Economics. He holds a BS in chemistry from the California Institute of Technology and a PhD in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
