Earth Institute Update / March 2010 A Future for Haiti

Mark Levy

Dear Friend,

We are living in a time in which many parts of the world are experiencing unprecedented stress. Poverty levels are very high, ecological damage is widespread and political instability presents challenges.

Addressing all of these interconnected problems requires combining state-of-the-art research with a commitment to experimenting on the ground with new solutions.

Haiti is one more example of a place where a number of challenges come together in overwhelming ways. The Earth Institute is engaged in efforts to start turning the tide and achieving progress.
