A Year of Success...Earth Institute scientists and researchers at Columbia University have made tremendous strides this year in addressing the world's most pressing global issues. The commitment of our partners, friends and supporters has allowed us to tackle issues like climate change, water scarcity and other urgent problems facing the world today. A New Generation of Leaders...Through 28 associated degree programs and curricula, the Earth Institute is giving a new generation the knowledge and skills to be leaders in the fields of environmental studies and sustainable development. This last year, we developed new courses at Columbia University, helped develop a new concentration in the Master of Public Administration in Development Practice, and facilitated many other educational opportunities. Convening Great Thinkers…Every year, the Earth Institute holds hundreds of seminars, conferences and events at Columbia University and around the world to facilitate dialogue between the world’s most influential and innovative thinkers and practitioners in academic, nonprofit, corporate and government spheres.
