Experts in multi-level and multi-site interventions, Drs. Peter Messeri and Mary Clare Lennon have extensive experience evaluating the impact of social intervention programs. As part of the evaluation component of the Earth Institute ADVANCE program, they will study a subgroup of faculty and research scientists over the course of the five-year grant. Data will be collected through 1) repeated in-depth interviews with a small sample of Earth Institute men and women 2) program statistics generated during the implementation of each ADVANCE program, 3) individual and / or group interviews with faculty responsible for hiring and promoting junior faculty, and 4) the institutional work environment survey.
Assisting Drs. Messeri and Lennon with the development and coordination of the evaluation is Alicia Peters, Doctoral Candidate at the Mailman School of Public Health.
