Jennifer Laird is the Associate Director of the ADVANCE Program at the Earth Institute at Columbia University.
Prior to joining the ADVANCE Program in 2004, Jennifer was the Program Coordinator for the Science, Technology & Security Initiative at Women In International Security (WIIS), a non-profit based at Georgetown University. In this position, she organized programs such as Congressional staff briefings and public policy forums that enhanced interaction between policymakers and women scientists. Jennifer also wrote the quarterly policy review for the Initiative. Prior to WIIS, she worked in San Francisco and New York as an account executive at Bender / Helper Impact, a technology public relations firm. Jennifer holds an M.A. in Science Policy from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, and she received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
